TUBULAR HEATING ELEMENTS
Selecting an industrial or OEM tubular heating element
Tubular elements are made to suit the equipment they heat, so the right choice starts with the application rather than a catalogue number. Use the points below to narrow down a design with our Brisbane team.
What is being heated
Confirm whether the element heats air, water, oil, caustic solution or a surface such as a platen or mould. For forced air, finned FINBAR™ elements add surface area; for immersion, flat FIREBAR® elements help reduce coking.
Sheath material
Choose from Incoloy 800, stainless steel 321, Titanium or Incoloy 825 to suit the medium and operating temperature.
Size and shape
Elements are made in 8mm and 11mm diameters, up to 5m long, with over 80 standard bend formations. A drawing or sample of the existing element helps match OEM replacements.
Power and watt density
Watt densities up to 120 W/in² (18.6 W/cm²) and sheath temperatures up to 700°C are available; the right figure depends on the medium and how heat is removed.
Termination, mounting and control
Select double-ended styles, flexible lead wire or other terminations, plus threaded bulkheads, brackets, locator washers, collars and moisture-resistant or high-temperature seals. MULTICOIL™ designs add internal thermocouples and three-phase capability.

Quotation checklist
Sending these details with your enquiry helps our team quote accurately:
Application and medium being heated (air, water, oil, caustic solution or surface)
Required power (W or kW) and supply voltage, single or three phase
Element diameter (8mm or 11mm) and heated / overall length
Bend shape, with a drawing, photo or sample if replacing an existing element
Preferred sheath material, or the operating temperature and medium so we can recommend one
Termination style, lead length and mounting or sealing requirements
Temperature control needs, such as internal thermocouples
Quantity, and whether this is a one-off replacement or ongoing OEM supply
